A generat question on TT levers.
 

Can the "reverse" or TT levers be used effectively in an installation
where the rider's thumb points away from the lever's fulcrum?

I have never used them, period. Has anyone used them where the pinky
was close to the lever?

That's a common French city bike orientation. See the Velo Orange site
for many examples.

I've used them only briefly, on a test ride. But in my limited
experience they work fine, perhaps better. Your stronger fingers are in
the position to get the most leverage.

Yeah, seems I've seen 'em thus.

Do you (or anyone may chime in) have any ideas on a decent set of
internally routed, long pull TT levers? Most new levers are short
pull... in fact, most don't even say any more. I suppose I could use
a "Travel Agent"; however, I hate to.

And... while I'm typing... in my research, I am seeing this: "The
yada yada TT Brake Levers are only compatible with Mountain Style
Brake Cables," or a similar statement.

What's a "Mountain Style" brake cable?

What's a "Mountain Style" brake cable?

One wiv a (monkey metal?) transverse barrel cast on the end to suit a flat bar
type of lever, not a somewhat tinier in-line mushroom to suit drop bar type
levers. Still the same size wire though at around 1.6mm.
