experience with 2.4Mhz heartbeat bike compu's?? / Cateye V3 - VDO Z3 -
Polar CS600 ($$$) TIA Hi cateye is cheap / VDO has better specs / Polar is set in diamonds 2.4MHz does this work a promised? Cateye V3 says distance 50cm for heartbeat VDO mentions 90cm Big difference (Cateye also is tiny, while VDO is quite big) Polar has bad reviews on their Power module, and has a load of Software Programs I prob wont use I read 1 review about Cateye: 'satisfactory, drops the beat rarely' whatever that means would the VDO be an improvement on that I think Polar is too $$ I JUST WANT HEARTBEAT RATINGS THAT WORK ALL THE TIME thanks MT netherlands |

Other than a few battery changes it has been maintenance free and always works. |

Think it may be the sensor. My Suunto X3 HR heart monitor just died also, of a broken transmitter strap. A new transmitter for the Suunto would cost about $50 - $60. The Cateye V3 would replace the 300 and the X3 and REI currently has on sale for $139. I have about $65 in dividends at REI so final cost would total about $80 with tax. Seems like a no-brainer since I need a new computer and HR monitor. I wish the V3 had an altimeter function like the X3 HR, but only other unit with all that plus HR combined is the new Polar Neuro 6 at about $225. I've had good experience with Cateye products.
