Get attacked by muntain lion? Choke it to death!

Just read this in the weather network. Some guy jogging in Colorado got attacked by a 1 year old mountain lion but the jogger survived by choking the mountain lion to death.

Cheers

That's one tough guy!

Apparently cougars are slowly reclaiming former range in eastern North
America. Interesting article at

I was surprised that he didn't get disemboweled. Cats have this habit of using their hind claws. I wonder how he held the cat and avoided the rear claws whilst strangling it.

Cheers

I read earlier today that some guy called Joerg thinks his lions are
more impressive.

Maybe he has a point, at 36kg this isn't the type of lion I remember
Johnny Weissmuller strangling in the old Tarzan movies, or was it Victor
Mature?

I suspect the runner himself would say there was a lot of luck involved
(I sure would); but it was do-or-die (or both), and this time "do" won.

Trying sure beats the alternative when it comes to that, though the CO
governor went on record as saying not to try this at home if at all
possible.

Here's part of an interview with him, where he describes how he did
it -- put his foot on the lion's throat while it continued to hold his
right hand in it's jaws.

These occurrences are increasing pretty rapidly. Within the last couple of days PETA was crying that some farmer shot the mountain lion that killed two sheep in two nights and is suspected of killing his neighbor's goat last week. He called Animal Control but apparently they do not really control anything other than dogs and cats.
