Recumbent trike

Some student has gone and parked his very neat looking recumbent trike
right outside my window! It's very tempting just sitting there.

Hmm.. I'm waiting for Roos to ride the Fiero into campus.. Igor is getting
hungry.

"Thanks" to small print on CTC's insurance, it isn't insured on college
campuses, so combined with a "why grind salt into my expensive tourer's
transmission when I have a perfectly good hack bike" reasoning she seems
to be of a mind not to bother.

But Igor could try snacking on the shiny new front wheel with Ultegra
dynohub now gracing the Giant... /if/ he thinks he's hard enough! Since
said bike lives with the 'bents, Muni and 8 Freight on a night by night
basis, he may want to carefully consider his chances first! ;-)

I think (hope) that the wheels on the Fiero are too small for Igor and the
700C ones on the Giant too big.

And there's the 'why bother walking around in cycling shoes for a 10 min
ride' reason. The Lifesciences bikeshed does seem fairly secure, wasn't
there something in the CTC small print that on campus but in locked shed
was ok?

Given the number of bikes in there that are occasionally left unlocked, or
have pumps/lights/panniers etc left on, I think they count as fairly secure.

Can't imagine the CTC having much to complain about. The CCTV camera is a
fake though.. They might put a real one in soon.

In a more ideal world, no, but these are insurance companies we're=20
talking about (the CTC is not the insurer, btw, it's just their name on=20
the box) and if they can screw you for not crossing Ts and dotting Is=20
there's a chance they will. And why take an =A31,800 chance on a day to =

day basis when you've got a much simpler alternative?

Plus wot Roos sed about why faff with SPuDs etc.

Absolutely.. I ride on the flat side of the pedals for the commute.

Must nip off to Spokes and pick up the new tyres.. A pair of Nokian AWS so I
can move the City Jets onto Igor.

And Santa might get upset if I don't use the Giant for dark commutes!

Just got my AWS from spokes. They ordered them specially and they came out
at a tenner each. Excellent service and value..

I'll be fitting those tonight.

It woz them that built Roos' new wheel after special dispensation from
the North Pole for an early present. And they've done a good job at
tracking down a hard to find Rixen and Kaul pannier hook too, so it
seems we've now got 2 worthwhile bike shops in town rather than just 1.
Hurrah!
