"Royal Navy veteran Roy Galvin, from Alverstoke, Hampshire, was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth following the incident in Bury Road, Gosport, on Sunday.

The 69-year-old had been with his wife when the argument broke out with cyclist Duncan Snellgrove during which he was allegedly pushed over and hit his head on the road.

Mr Galvin was treated for a serious head injury but died this morning."
