Welcom Albee,

Best of luck learning. It's hard. Don't give up!

It is only hard to begin with. Once you get the hang of the whole "oh
**** I'm going to fall over" thing you will begin to enjoy yourself and
find it to be almost second nature.
I can get on my unicycle after a week of not even looking at it and it
seems perfectly normal to me. I wouldn't have thought it at first
seeing as I struggled a lot in the early stages.
Keep at it and ask as many questions as it takes to help you. Most
importantly...

DON'T GIVE UP!

Quote of the day (from non-riders)

Just been out practicing on Coddling Grinder 1 round my local estate.
Was feeling quite smug with myself as I'd managed to get up and down
the other side of a rough grass bank when a couple of kids on bikes
appeared. Had a nice chat with them and they were really impressed and
interested.

Went over the grass bank again (more smugness) and was just using a
handy sign post to mount (not cracked free mounts yet) when a chap
wanders up and asks me "Are you all right? Do you need any help?"! He
looked totally serious. That must be the best unintentional (I believe)
put down ever! Of course, he may have been referring to my sanity.

Carrying on I'm just bimbling down a path when another couple of kids
cycle past. As they are almost out of earshot I hear one say to the
other "Nice Hookworm" and the other reply "cool rim too". At least the
Coddling Grinder ended the ride on a high :(

Hey,
First post here. Just like to say, really enjoyed reading parts of this
thread. :)

I've been unicycling about 6 months. Only got a few tricks in the bag
yet *sigh*.

but I managed today, to ride down a set of 13 stairs today. Finished by
a yell of victory!

Anyway this is my best quote:
"I think you lost a wheel", fomr a man in car with only *3* wheels.
I was like, WTF?!
