This is the ugly part of sports - there is no doubt in my mind that her heart problem stemmed from performance enhancing drugs. Her record simply is too good. As a past boxer I know that there is nothing you can do with some fighters that will stop them no matter what your skill level.

This is why I get so angry with people that treat Armstrong as if he was somehow different than any of the other team leaders of his time.

There really is no excuse for the actions of the UCI. While claiming that they want to protect the health of the riders they sent me a letter saying in effect that they intended to take the weight limits off of bicycles. This will put rider's lives directly on the line.

If you watch old Tour CD's you can plainly see Armstrong riding in such a manner that it was entirely skill and not performance increased by drugs. He was a superior rider to others because of his own superiority complex and competitive drive. Do you think that he beat Pantani with drugs when Pantani was a walking advertisement for PED's?

I want to see drugs out of all professional sports not just because it makes the competition unfair to those who do not want to use illegal drugs but because it sorely affects their health.

Greg Lemond had his hunting accident. He recovered and came back and in the early season he was not even beginning to be competitive. He went to his doctor who announced to him that he was "low on iron" and gave him an injection. Then he became superman again.

Well, at that same time EPO was developed and his doctor could very well have injected him with EPO which would have been the medically correct treatment for his condition. Greg may never have even known what happened. So though I totally agree with Lemond's position visa vi drugs I think he should be a lot more careful throwing stones.
