Speeding cyclist slams into stationary truck
"I went around the corner and there was a line of stationary traffic. I
just wasn't able to stop and I slammed into the back of a pick-up truck," she recalled. "I tried to swerve, but I couldn't control the bike and I glanced off the truck and got catapulted onto the other side of the road on my head." https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/h...orror-16642745 |

This report shows what can happen when road-users don't follow that simple precautionary rule. Let's hope the owner of the pickup truck is going to be properly compensated for the cost of repairs and for loss of use whilst the vehicle is being repaired. And let's also hope that the cyclist fully recovers. She'll probably have learned her lesson and will now understand exactly why no-one should round a blind bend or corner without being able and prepared to stop immediately if it proves necessary. A hard lesson, though. |
