Why does Lidditism™ correlate with kill-filing announcements?

The careful observer of rec.bicycles.tech will notice that almost all of
those who announce that they are using kill-files on particular posters
are also in the Liddite™ camp. The observer will also note that these
kill-filers are prone to posting (incorrect) authoritarian announcements
of opinion on the effectiveness of bicycle foam hats as fact. The
fervor with which they proclaim their beliefs in expanded polystyrene
hats, makes clear that this is a matter of faith, and this Liddite™
fundamentalism leads them to reject facts to the contrary. Then it is
no wonder that they find the presentation of logical arguments against
Lidditism™ to be insulting, so they cover their eyes with a kill-file to
avoid viewing "heathen" beliefs. The announcement of the kill-filing
serves to bond them to their fellow Liddite™ believers, while excluding
the "heathens" from the clique.

RBT is for nerds and jerks. I wouldn't be caught dead on that newsgroup
myself. Only RBS is worthy of me.

The ultimate luddites are liberal-socialist-communist *******s. As far as I
know Tom Sherman does not kill-file anyone and neither do I. My view is
that kill-filers, without any exceptions, are cowards. I say ****'em all the
way to Hell and back!

A Liddite™ (sic) is a person who believes that foam bicycle hats provide
significant protection against traumatic brain injury.

that these kill-filers are prone to posting (incorrect) authoritarian

The worst kill-filers are those who comment on the partial quoted posts
of those who they have kill-filed.

I couldn't agree with you more! I still want to kill that screwball from
Texas (Lee something) who continued to comment on my posts even though he
had kill-filed me. They are the worst scofflaws of all. Once you have
kill-filed someone, you are no longer qualified to comment on him or his
posts. A partially quoted post from someone else is worse than useless.

Maybe the people that are kill filing you are doing so because of your method
of making your point and not because of your point.

BTW, given the definition of luddite, your liddite thing probably better describes
someone who refers to bicycle helmets as foam hats.

At any rate, do you really expect people with different opinions to continue
conversations with you after insulting and deriding them?

Why does [Helmetism] correlate with kill-filing announcements?

=v= Helmet threads are legendary for their uselessness, and
there are many killfiles (or Newsgroup filters) set up to
avoid the word "helmet", the idiotic typo "helmut", and the
annoying "h*lm*t" dodge.

=v= You seem to think that repeating "magical foam hat" over
and over and over is somehow going to get your point across
to the handful of people who haven't filtered this junk out?
Or perhaps you've caught on to the error of your ways, but
only partially, going with a different word ("Liddite", oh
how mind-blowingly witty)?

=v= As a courtesy to others, please have the decency to make
it clear what you're actually talking about. If you can't
resist trumpeting your overarching cleverness in the Subject:
header, at least make proper use of the Keywords: header.

I prefer "Hell Mutt".

=v= You seem to think that repeating "magical foam hat" over

Well it is a foam hat, and the true believers have imparted magical
powers to it, e.g. "helmets prevent 85% of head injuries".

Or perhaps you've caught on to the error of your ways, but
only partially, going with a different word ("Liddite", oh

But apt.
