Yakima or Thule

I recently purchased a Volvo S70 and would like to add a roof rack. I

know that Volvo's own rack is manufactured by Thule). Any thoughts?

Definitely go with Thule for a Volvo. You'll probably find indicators on the roof showing exactly where the crossbars should be placed. The quality of Thule products, and the design of their mounts tends to be better than that of Yakima. Also, Yakima has outsourced manufacturing to Mexico.

I didn't like the Thule tandem mount. I got a Graber (Saris) tandem mount which allows both wheels to remain on the bicycle.
