Svrn Nijs rides a lot of miles?

Unfair to other cyclocross racers? Guys who don't have sponsorships
like Nijs' Rabobank gig have to work other jobs in the offseason and
can't pack on the miles the way that Nijs can. It's not fair! The UCI
should pass rules limiting the amount of time a cyclocrosser can train.
Otherwise it'll go down the same sorry path that road racing has taken
- guys doing 35 hours/week on the bike. The playing field needs to be
leveled!

But if the field is leveled, then it won't be 'cross, it'll be just another crit.

Think of the barriers!
