Your humour is paricularly sick tonight. You're obviously trying hard. The whole of the story is cut'n'pasted below. There is absolutely no mention of the victim walking out in front of the cyclist. The collision may just as easily have taken place on the footway. Bathwick Hill, as those familar with the area know, sees sees more than its fair share of anti-social footway cycling. Particularly downhill. Uphill not so much. QUOTE: Elderly man dies after collision with bicycle on Bath's Bathwick Hill Derrick Stoaling was taken to hospital with head injuries but died eight days later An elderly pedestrian has died following a collision with a bicycle on a steep hill in Bath. Derrick Stoaling was taken to hospital with head injuries but died eight days later. Police are seeking witnesses after the collision, which happened at about 3.50pm on Monday, October 23 in Bathwick Hill. The cyclist was travelling downhill at the time. Mr Stoaling was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he was treated for his injuries. Sadly, he died on Tuesday, October 31. His family are being supported by a specially trained liaison officer. Police have today appealed for witnesses to the collision. A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We'd like to speak to anyone who saw this collision or assisted at the scene. Anyone with information can call 101 quoting reference CI/222/17/1053.” |
