Attempted murder of cyclists case opens at the Old Bailey

The driver has already wriggled in the dock by pleading "not guilty". No matter, since he has been held in custody until June.

Chanelling Pounder:

'What are cyclists doing on the roads at 7.30am, the dole office doesn't open until 9.'

How is that wriggling? Are people not entitled to plead "not guilty"

No matter, since he has been held in custody until June.

And if he is found not guilty, then he gets no compensation for this
deprivation of liberty.

Indeed - that is also known as a wriggle, if you are on video knocking over cyclists (and police officers) like ninepins.

We seem to attend different courts.

In the courts I go to, a man is innocent until PROVEN guilty, and he is
entitled to put the prosecution to proof of their case. That is what a
"not guilty" plea indicates, not, in any way, a "wriggle".

Even such simple concepts are beyond some people, as is the sub judice
rule/rules.
