Cyclist with mobile phone
 

Sunday,

I was going for a drive with the wife and kids to the Camberwell markets
(saw that dude with the reverse steering bike offering $50 to anyone who
could ride it about 8 metres or so)........

Anyway, as I was at a major intersection at Heidelberg, I saw a guy wearing
a GT jersey on an Alchemy road bike waiting at the lights and talking on his
mobile. No probs there with me, but when the lights turned green he
proceeded to continue riding across the major intersection (3 lanes each
way), with his left hand on the bars, phone to his right ear, and wobbling
all over the place.

I get the ****s when car drivers are driving and talking on the mobile at
the same time (especially one chick I saw on Hoddle St who was talking on a
video phone) and this guy probably does too, but it has to work both ways.
Surely he could have finished his conversation at the lights, put his phone
away, and continued on his ride??

Hate to preach.......but have a good think fella!!!

Ride On (preferably without talking on your mobile)

I'm not sure about that - a driver may well have to swerve to avoid him.

There have been a couple of guys fined in Tassie for talking on mobil
phone while riding. Including a vets world champ road cyclist - eh Ray
