I reckon a good starting pressure is about 1psi per 10lbs of rider
weight. Then adjust it up or down depending on how and where you ride.

I'll put in another vote for a 26", probably with 150mm cranks. With a
3" tyre it's very nearly the same diameter as a 29er, but better on
rocks. A 29er is lighter (due to the skinnier tyre) but...
