What does this do to center of gravity?
How am I effected for freemounting and riding without hands on
handlebar?
How am I effected for...

29" Discussion thread

Tammy,

My response is based on my own riding style and use of 29". Others may
contradict but here you go.

My normal ride on my 29 is 25km distance with 5 - 10 km offroading thru
woods. I have tried...

Should I consider a 29er

See here http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64498

The 29" is the Jeep of my unicycle family, it takes me every where I
want to go.

Nice day for a ride thru the woods.

Which unicycle, hmmm (20", 29", 36").
No contest, out comes the 29"

I jump on my 29 and go for a ride.

Start off on the bike trails for the first 5kms, then I...

First successful free mount

I spend last winter practicing freemounting my 29" and 36" in basement
of my house.

Had no problems freemounting my 20" but the bigger diameter wheels take
more confindence (for me any way).

Keep...

Terry Fox Run 2008?

Today the Terry Fox run occured in Fredericton New Brunswick.

The run raised 7659.00 towards cancer research.

I did the run on my 29" unicycle. Managed to do 10k in 45min.

It was a cloudy overcast...

Broken colarbone

Nope didn't happen on motorcycle, not on my unicycle, not on my
bicycle.

Playing hockey had a mid ice collission.

So no motorcycle, no unicycle, for 6 - 8 weeks.

This sucks

102mm cranks on a 29er...good idea?

I tried my 102 on my 29" for one week.

Here's my notes:
Daily commute to and from work ok, but static mount harder.

Marginal higher speed but coming down hills harder to slow down.

Feels smoother...

Role call for Unicyclist still looking for RTL teammates

Well I must concede defeat. It appears there is no opportunity for me to
participate as a rider in the RTL event.

I admit that I am disappointed. I have been training since early Aug
2007.

The Ultimate Touring Unicycle? Nearly!

In my humble opinion, you have "The dream unicycle" (Frame, hub, rim,
and brakes). Best of all it's a 29".

If I were to start from scratch and say money is no object that would
be it except id...

29er vs 36er

The 29" is vesitile for both off road, muni, commuting.

Its just the right size for downtown traffic, simple freemounting, not
too big to idle.
Believe me, ask the coker riders how many can idle...

Handle vs Weight on a 36

I've experience both unicycles (29 & 36) with and with out T7.

Weight addition of T7 is not noticable.

Increased speed due to greater confidence and ability to tuck further
forward and ride fast by...

Nice job, it's always great to make our unicycle an extension of
ourselves.

In a field of unicycles yours should stand out in a crowd.

BTW what tire are you running?
