Port Fairy Rail Trail (Vic)

Checked out the Port Fairy rail trail yesterday, in the majority, very
good. Well surfaced, terrain moderate, though fairly exposed. Reasonably
accurate map is available from tourist information...

final swoop

Sorry I have no way of posting a photo, for a season finale I can report
that my helmet has been destroyed by a magpie. The attack took place just
down the road on Oct 12. There's a gouge about 2 cm...

Yarra Boulevard - proposed 'cycling road'

On a routine suburban ride this arvo, larger than usual land barge slows
down behind me, starts blowing horn and flashing lights. Here we go,
thinks I. A convenient service road came up, so I slipped...

They've started for the year, probably earlier in other areas, fake eyes
and cable ties time. I'll go for a long bike path run tomorrow and see how
many come after me.

Been a while since something got my goat sufficient to bother doing this.
An argument a few weeks back at Sunday dinner in which a family member
tried convincing me that motor cars were the best...
