What protocol does Shimano di2 uses

Where can I find more information of what protocol Shimano di2 uses to change gears I would like to add an additional switch so I can change gears at the different hand position

I think the new firmware screwed it.
My same setup no issues and im afraid to go to new fw

Lou, if you can measure the spoke length and if its about the same 296 and has 2.0 threaded end i think it will work and ill pay for it

Thanks for finding on amazon - but i question the accuracy of the part description

Heading = Nucleon
Part for ZONDA and the p/n is not for nucleon

2.0mm ends (threaded on one end)
aero profile 1.6x3.0 - replacement does not have to match
