Looks interesting, since it would including Alpe d'Huez, something my
son would like to ride (not a part of the TdF this year). Does anyone
know much about this event? Not much info in English. I can sorta read
French and translate what I can't figure out through Google, but the
info is still pretty sparse.

When looking at the route descriptions, I didn't see any route doing the
traditional l'Alpe d'Huez climb. Only the Balcon des Grandes Rousses on
July 19th reaches the village l'Alpe d'Huez, but through another climb
to the (beautiful, quiet) Col de Sarenne.
The descent is also not the traditional road (only the upper part).
