Default JOGLE ride report

Strickly a LEJOG.

"AN Alnwick man and his son-in-law battled the elements and engineering as
they cycled from one end of the country to the other. Fenton Moore, 46, who
works as a handyman for Homes for Northumberland, and Luke Shingler
completed their journey from Land's End to John O'Groats last month, raising
money for Help for Heroes.
It is a charity important to both men as Fenton formerly served in the Royal
Navy and Luke is currently stationed at RAF Lincoln. Fenton offered a
massive thank-you to everyone who supported their ride, which they completed
on Saturday, July 23.

"We very nearly didn't get started as one of the bikes was lost in the
post," he said. "That's when the generosity of people started as Halfords
agreed to lend a bike for the ride.

"We then rode into a constant headwind, through three days of thunderstorms,
one snapped chain and one puncture, arriving 13 days later at John O'Groats.

"The support and encouragement we received during the ride was immense -
people handing over money as we rode, cheering us on, tooting horns - it was
fantastic and amazing."
