Hiker apparently killed by fall on Big Island identified

Big Island police today identified the man who apparently fell to his
death last Thursday as L**** H******, 59, of Westminster, Calif.
H***** had been hiking with a companion when the two of them got lost
after dark in 'Opihikao in Lower Puna.
The 46-year-old woman told police that she heard a splash and Holland
stopped responding to her calls.
Police recovered the body Friday morning at the bottom of a 100-foot
cliff.
Was that a splash she heard or a splat?
