Default and if he was doping.......

.... then cycle racing has hit a new low.
no doubt about it, cycling will be in turmoil, the actions of one man may
possible leave a hitherto tarnished enough albeit wonderful sport in
dissarray with sponsors, TV companies etc reluctant to further invest.
if ever there was an example of why doping should be completely cracked down
upon, this is it.

personally, i fear the worst for landis and the reputation of the sport, it
crossed my mind during stage 17 that he had taken something, i remain open
minded however and await the next stage results of the process.

" Landis's abnormal ratio has already broken new ground. Not only does he
face becoming the first Tour winner to be struck off for doping, it means
that the winners of all three of cycling's major Tours are now either banned
or fighting possible bans, placing the sport's credibility at a new low. The
result of the Tour of Spain is unclear since its winner Roberto Heras was
banned for use of the blood booster erythropoietin but the race has not been
awarded to the runner-up Denis Menchov and the Giro d'Italia winner Basso is
contesting the Operation Puerto allegations. "
