One of my favourite postcards is of a signpost pointing both left and
right with Chinese-type words on each end but "This Way" right in the
middle. A former colleague came up with a plausible interpretation,
that the Chinese was for "Ladies" and "Gents" and the ambiguity in the
English was to embarass foreign tourists...
