Default Bridge over hike-bike path named for late employee

Bridge over hike-bike path named for late employee

The 18-foot-high bridge that's recently been built over Hunley Road as part of
Anderson Township's new 2-mile-long hike/bike path will be called the Al Mink
Bridge.

Mink, a 71-year-old part-time township employee who devoted countless volunteer
hours to township projects, died Feb. 3 of complications from lymphoma.

The hike-bike path, called the Five Mile Trail, was one of Mink's pet projects.
The township trustees decided it would be a fitting honor to name the bridge
after him. The Five Mile Trail extends from Five Mile Road and Clough Pike to
Newtown Road near Turpin High School. The project will be completed by the
spring.
