This is getting a bit semantic, but as being banned is essentially a passive
thing you don't really _serve_ it in the same way as you serve a sentence -
you're not required to _do_ anything or _be_ anywhere, merely not to drive.
The offence you commit if you drive while banned is driving while banned,
not 'breaking the ban'.So you can't serve a ban but you can be in breach of
it.
