Default Is there any good non-rechargeable headlights anymore?

Source of power is a weird spec. Why don't you specify your actual
requirements and then accept whatever power source the solution happens to
have?

You used to see the same thing in digital cameras. Opposition to
proprietary batteries because of the ability to buy AA batteries just
about anywhere if your NiMH went flat. There were elaborate charging
routines with color coding multiple sets of two or four cells.
Thankfully that all eventually went away.

There are some flashlights that can use one 26650 or three AA batteries,
and some that can use one 18650 or three AAA batteries. Those might suit
the original poster.

1x18650/3xAAA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019J0HAQ

Actually there are battery holders that should be able to work with most
18650 flashlights, but a 26650 flashlight would need a larger barrel to
hold 3 AA cells, so they don't make those adapters.

In the days of LED and good rechargeables, this should be a complete non
issue. Just get a hub dynamo and forget all about buying or charging
batteries.

Yes, hub dynamos are great, though they don't provide sufficient power
for lights that are needed in some situations.
