Default Is there any good non-rechargeable headlights anymore?

Plus--on the LWB recumbent, the lights have to be mounted upside-down.
And the old Cateye lights were "waterproof", while almost all of these
new ones are just "water resistant", and I'd bet, not nearly so if
mounted upside down in the rain...

Another common problem with many recumbents is that you can't mount the
lights at--or even near--head-level.

The reason is because at night, insects tend to dive-bomb the brightest
source of light they see. If your headlights are mounted RIGHT in front
of your face and there's many flying bugs about, you get a constant rain
of insects hitting directly on your face.
