I am shocked that anyone is left in this world who even knows

about this
group. It once had some glory days, but things have come to a sorry

idiots.
Do not be so hard on yourself, Mr. Ed Dolan.

Mr. Tom Sherman was a former mainstay of quite a few of these cycling
groups on Usenet. He was perhaps its greatest advocate of “post free or
die”. However, human nature being what it is, such free forums were
impossible as we all eventually discovered. What destroys unmonitored
newsgroups are all the “trolls and other assorted idiots” who know no
bounds on their free speech.
The one thing Ed Dolan did that Tom Sherman never did was to take on all
these idiots and give them a taste of their own medicine. Many a battle
was fought and won by yours truly, but the end result was that the
newsgroups were destroyed. The silences of the Tom Sherman’s of this
world means that the lowest common denominator will always win out as
every person with half a brain falls silent. I felt it was far better
that a newsgroup cease to exist than that it be dominated by morons and
idiots. Tom Sherman was neither a moron nor an idiot, but his silences
were always deafening when things got hot. I attributed it to moral
cowardice, but it may be that he had a stake in the world and needed to
guard his privacy.
It is good riddance to Usenet newsgroups, with or without monitors. They
may have served a function when the Internet was new, but have now
become nothing but a remembrance of a past festival in which certain
individuals gloried in their knowledge of one trivial thing or another.
Only the Great Ed Dolan, who is also a Great Saint, remains to kick its
dead ass.

Gnaw [1], just that the people on the bicycle newsgroups are generally

civil enough that they do not need telling off. I will and have told
people off when they were being treasonous while hiding behind the
pretense of being politically correct; I have no problems with telling
someone that they are filth who deserves to die if that is really the
case. Or just to go **** themselves, if they are of limited
comprehension.
[1] A datakollism.

Yes, but only when your ox was being gored. I took on any and all who
presented an affront to civility and common sense. I did not limit
myself to any parochial interests. I had the interests of the newsgroup
as a whole at heart whereas you were notorious for absenting yourself
when things got hot. You did nothing to save the group when it was terminal.
Further, the bicycle newsgroups were notorious for being left of center
politically and in every other way. You were about as politically
correct as they come. It was only your tirade against Israel and the
Jews that got you into a bit of trouble. Conservatives on these
newsgroups were as rare as diamonds in the rough ... of which I was the
exemplar of the type. But of course everyone knows that 1 conservative
is the equivalent of 10,000 liberals.

Ed, if you were better informed, you would know that Political
Correctness™ is a Zionist attack on Europeans and European culture, just
as the Zionists/Israel hate the US and Europe and want to see them
destroyed (i.e. Zionism and Bolshevism are different sides of the same
coin, 9/11/2001 was a Mossad run operation, etc).

The sad part is you are unwittingly supporting your enemies (Zionists),
while making enemies of those (e.g. Iran) who would be your friends.

P.S. Anyone who equates Zionism with Jewishness is either ignorant or a
traitor to humanity of the worst sort.
