Non-motorway roads will be more congested though, perhaps with more-
impatient-than-usual drivers :-(

According to the radio reports, the whole road surface will have to be
replaced.
I suppose the diesel will be a highly effective solvent for the
bitumen so it will have to be skimmed and replaced.
