From the look of the street in the photo, the cyclist was likely to
have been
belting along it.

Parkgate is (or was) a popular gathering place for those out for a
relaxing stroll along the former waterfront on the Dee estuary (west
side of the Wirral peninsula). It is a historic location (links to
Nelson and Lady Hamilton) and has never been known as a fast
through-route.


The phot shows it's a long straight road, ideal for cycling at speed if it
weren't for pedestrians and narrow pavements.


The "narrow pavements" might be part of the problem.

Who do these pedestrians think they are, eh?
