That's awful. Drivers like that should be locked up for a very long
time. I expect he'll just be fined for running into the cyclist, and
the greater crime of wearing socks with sandals will be completely
overlooked.

It's more likely that the driver will be sent on an awareness course -
no fine, no points.

It should also be pointed out that no evidence is presented to support
the assertion that Ian Jackson "belittles" such incidents.
