Default 2019 - you MUST leave a 5 foot overtaking gap!

The miserable faction will no doubt be up in arms about why they should
give 1.5m when overtaking a *moving* cyclist but the cyclist is not
required to give the same gap when overtaking their *stationary* vehicle.

Besides, almost everybody (vocal cyclists included) will fail to notice
that it is 1.5m wheel to wheel, not mirror to elbow. A strange omission
by whatever government organistion put this forward.


I think relative speed is the issue.
I remember cycling with a friend from her flat in Kensal Green across the city to Greenwich.
Crossing Tower Bridge we were shoulder to mirror with subsidised vehicles but it did not feel dangerous.
