Drivers have no remit to act as court and executioner. Pedestrian
casualty figures show drivers are the biggest hypocrites around if they
try to act as the "pedestrian's friend".

The driver will probably be insured for the damaged caused by the
cyclist.
Will the cyclist be insured? Answers on a postage stamp.


It would be interesting to see what he writes down in a claim. If he
puts in a claim, at least he will have to pay an excess and higher
premiums for a few years. If he doesn't claim, will he lie about his
record when he renews?

The driver is on film as virtually admitting that he caused the crash

deliberately. I doubt that even the driver's insurance company would pay
out after watching the video.
I also doubt that a court of law would find the cyclist liable after
watching the video and possibly even judge that compensation is due to
the cyclist.
