Riding against traffic is my primary annoyance, although I've never

that situation happened like this: I was driving out of town on the main
highway. My wife was with me. It was night, but less than an hour after
sunset. There was still a little light in the western sky.

A woman was riding toward us on the wrong side of the road. As we got
closer, she shifted from the wrong-side gutter to the center of the
highway, probably because I was in my right lane. After I passed, I saw
in my rear view mirror that she had moved back to the gutter.

I pulled over at the first opportunity (within a minute or so) and
called the town cops. I just said she was riding wrong way with no
lights, that it was very dangerous, and I hoped someone would stop her.
The dispatcher said she'd notify a patrolman. I don't know what, if
anything, happened after that. (The bike rider apparently didn't crash
or I'd have heard about it.)
