You cannot have too many rental bikes in China. There are just so many people there that even if this video of yours is correct the investors simply have someone manage the company and they made money forever. The bikes rarely need repairs. The tires do not wear out. Most people are the same size so there's little problem with having to fuss with the saddle height.

This won't work in most places in the US except in San Francisco or New York which has sufficient population density and the cost of housing is so high and the lack of parking so dramatic that bicycling is actually a viable alternative.
