How fast was he going?
What was the speed limit on that road?


From what was said in the OP, the cyclisty was clearly travelling at
significantly less than the speed limit.

Were there cars parked along the left hand side of the road?


The implication is that he could have been overaten safely but for his
anti-social behaviour.

If you're in any doubt about that, please re-read the post. What is
included (all of it) and what is not mentioned is all significant.

In passing him I shouted "******" out of the passenger window.


Road manners at their best.


Deliberatly provoking and aggravating other road users is never a good
idea, is it?
