Default Could Key West be a bike model for America?

OK, now for the serious stuff...

Where in the Key have you ridden?

I've ridden White St, Fleming St, which both have a bike lane, as well
as other back streets, then around the whole island on the perimeter
bike route/sidewalk.

Their whole attitude* is friendly and you are not considered an
"outcast" for riding a bike. You may be a local or a tourist from
Europe, and that sounds intimidating to the bullies out there. Too
many SUVs from Miami and other areas, but they seem somewhat tamed
down there. I think everybody down there drops their defenses and
enjoys the parties, the people, etc.

And I think IT HAS A LOT TO DO WITH THE FORMS OF TRANPORTATION THEY'VE
GOT.

* I think it was word chosen by my "comrade-in-arms" in another
thread.
