Compatible shifters with SRAM X.0 rear derailleur
Please help, I need some mechanical information. I just mounted a
SRAM X.0 rear derailleur on my Bacchetta Aero to replace the Ultegra (53-39-26 front, 12-27 rear going to a 12-30 or 12-32) I can't get the derailleur to shift throughout all 9 cogs on the cassette. The limit screws are set correctly. Is the Rocket shifter incompatible with the X.0 derailleur? If not, what else might I be doing wrong? Will Shimano Dura Ace barcon shifters work with the X.0? Thanks for any assistance. Marc |

Your SRAM Rocket is Shimano compatible which is different as you learned. Will Shimano Dura Ace barcon shifters work with the X.0? Only in friction mode, you'd have same problem trying to index the X.0 ESP RD with a non-ESP shifter. If you want to keep the new RD, get a Right Hand SRAM 9spd ESP Shifter such as: X.0, X.9, X.7, 9.0 or 7.0.. Thanks for any assistance. XO, X9's and X7's (and a few others) all use the SRAM standard amount of cable pull. They are 1:1, while Shimano Indexes at a 2:1 ratio (The shifter pulls twice as much cable. I don't know the actual draw of cable distance, but it h'ain't the same. Rockets list up as "Shimano Compatible" http://www.sram.com/mtb/shifters/rocket/twist_shift.asp Will Shimano Dura Ace barcon shifters work with the X.0? Friction Mode is a go. Any friction shifter will work. SRAM has been talking about a road group, but I haven't seen it and don't know if it will be compatible with the mountain group. But, you must have flat-ish bars if you are running the Rocket.... Hope you saved the receipt and the packaging... -- Jim |

Will Shimano Dura Ace barcon shifters work with the X.0?
