So there I was, peacefully stopped at the traffic lights southbound on
Shoreditch High Street. Coming north up Shoreditch High Street is one of
Her Majesty's Vauxhall Astras. Blue lights on, but no siren. Coming east
out of Holywell Lane is a Peugeot 306. It is clearly not being driven by
Superman, as the driver is unable to see the rapidly approaching dibbles due
to the presence of an irritatingly opaque building.

There is a collective sharp intake of breath among the cyclists and
motorcyclists gathered in the ASL area, coz we can see exactly what is about
to happen. Peugeot makes contact with Astra's nearside rear wing. Astra is
very soon umop-ap!sdn, heading in our direction and shedding bits for which
it has no further use. Fortunately it bounced off a convenient piece of
road furniture, but one of its wheels was heading in my direction with
alarming despatch. This, kids, is why it's a good idea to change down into
a low gear when stopped at the lights. Fear, as the poet sang, lent him
wings, and I took off at a rate that would have left Senor Alonso's company
car looking rather second-rate.

Don't know if anyone was KSI or hit by flying motorcar parts, but I think I
need a drink...

Bloody cyclists ignoring red traffic lights again ;-)

Glad you got away unharmed.

Blood hell, Dave! I think I would too. Glad you eventually made it to
the Nut Mines in one piece. Have you phoned in your name as a witness
to the opacity of the building and the non-nee-nering nature of the car
that nearly ended in your lap?

The irony is he would have been safer if he had been.

If he did that then the police would undoubtedly persecute him for
being "anti-police".

However, I gather all Metropolitan Police cars are now fitted with
data recorders which record such things.

I will always explain revoked keys, unless the UK government
prevents me by using the RIP Act 2000.

It's those new ID cards; all passing police vehicles will log the
details of all persons enjoying the freedom of the street by RFID.

Flippin' 'eck - not quite as amusing as your normal posts. From the
picture it looks like it could have been a *lot* worse; i.e. ploughing
through peds.

So, er, where did you get the photo? Are you some sort of Secret Agent
with access to the nation's spy satellites...? Of course if you say
"no" I shall assume that you are, and if "yes" I'll assume it's a
double-bluff.
