Default Rog's Road Trip East...2004

So we've got a destination to be at for the end of August, but no real
plans from there.

I figure that with some advance planning I could arrange for some rides
with any a.m-b'ers that could cope with the tedium and monotony of
riding with Rog. Remember, being forewarned is being forearmed.

The trip will take us from Winnipeg Manitoba through Duluth, along the
Upper Penninsula, down the Michigan panhandle(got my MMBA Big Ring Ale
socks for that one), across into Canada somewhere around Port Huron (?)
and then back up to Stratford Ontario. I'm pretty sure that's gonna be
the route (unless we fly, and my wings aren't very strong weak grin)

Now don't trip all over each other trying to make arrangements for a
ride even weaker grin, because there are a few unfortunate caveats to
be aware of. I've got some heart related stuff to know about, an
artificial Aortic valve, and a graft for an Ascending Aorta. As well,
I'm on heart meds and an anticoagulant. Basically this means that I can
ride flat, easy trails that offer MINIMAL risk of crashes. On the other
hand, it beats what I used to have to say, which was "My bike handling
skills suck. Can we ride something simple". (Poor Bubba, Chico and
Jeff&Sam circa 2000) However, as long as I'm able to I *AM* going to
ride!!! And if that means I have some restrictions, and have to take a
few precautions, then so be it. Remember, I told you first!

Think of it more as a chance to visit a fellow mtb'er whilst still
riding a mountain bike. We can always lie, err rather, embelish, the RR
later.

So. Who's interested???

snip some more

Rog - I think I may just have to let you have the "slowest AM-B'er" award by
default this year.

Next year, we're going to have to meet and thrash it out for real. Well, maybe
"thrash" is too strong a word.... ;-)

Come on down to Memphis, TN... we got PLENTY of that ;-(

Beale Street is always fun for walking and gawking.
It's just like New Orleans except it's Jazz and Blues instead of Cajun

We can always lie, err rather, embelish, the RR later.

Doesn't everybody?

You're headed the wrong direction, Rog. Jim Morrison said it, "The
West is the best".

We got family obligations out East next summer. Anniversaries, B'days,
etc... If it were a trip only for riding then the nose of the vehicle
would be pointing West for sure.
