A man was critically injured when two cyclists collided on a cycle path in
Peterborough.

Police were called to the pathway, on Bourges Boulevard, on Thursday
afternoon and two men were taken to Peterborough District Hospital.

A 49-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries while a 34-year-old man was
treated for minor injuries.

Appealing for witnesses police said it was quite unusual for such serious
injuries to come from a cycle crash.

Pc Paul Gale, said: "We need to find out exactly what happened here."

Its a good job they weren't motorists as they would almost certainly
be dead.

That's the standard reply of the cyclist who callously injures a pedestrian
after recklessly using the footway or cycling the wrong way down a one-way
street: "Good job I wasn't in a car".

OMG what a ****wit you are. If they were both in cars, with seat belts, air
bags, crumple zones, side impact zones etc - none would have recieved more
than a scratch at that speed.

Dave - intelligent enough to realise that a push bike is a kid's toy, not a
viable form of transport.
