Default SOCAL BIKE RIDES -- UPDATE

GRAND TOUR 2007
SATURDAY, JUNE 23, MALIBU, CA
LOS ANGELES WHEELMEN BIKE CLUB
If you are thinking of registering, now is the time! Beat the late
fee, which starts after 6/17. If you have already registered, please
pass this along to your riding buddies ... the more the merrier.

Start from Malibu and take it as far north as you like: 125 miles to
Moorpark and back for a Double Metric Century; 200 to Ojai, a Double
Century; 300 to Gaviota, a Triple Century; and if you still have the
time and the energy after 300 miles, add one more loop north and back
from Malibu for a Quadruple Century. Good food including a full lunch
at the midpoint and barbeque dinner at the end, helpful support all
the way, and matchless bragging rights included with all rides. For
on-line registration:

or more info and registration form from the L.A. Wheelmen:

OTHER NOTABLE RIDES/EVENTS FROM NEIGHBORING CLUBS FOR LATER THIS
SUMMER:

JULY: WINDMILL CENTURY
SATURDAY, 7/21, LOS ALAMOS, CA
TAILWINDS BIKE CLUB
Ride the cool central coast, through scenic canyons, vineyards,
ranches, and beautiful vistas, in the Santa Maria Valley. Routes of
100, 64 and/or 40-miles, support, lunch midway, after-ride Santa Maria
Style BBQ: top sirloin of beef, chicken, or vegetarian.

AUGUST: COOL BREEZE CENTURY

CHANNEL ISLANDS BIKE CLUB
The weather is usually ideal for cycling, in the low 70s. Routes of
125, 102, 60, or 38 miles. The shortest ride is mostly flat,
intermediates flat to rolling, the longest one climbs over Casitas
Pass. Rest/food stops along the way, support, St. Maria-style
tri-tip and chicken lunch at the finish.
