The Value of Face Masks While Biking in an Urban Environment
Dave wrote:
Do you live in a big city or an area where you are sometimes forced to inhale car and truck exhaust? If so, you should strongly consider using a face mask, because exhaust causes arteries to lose their flexibility. Bought and tried a face mask last year. Only wore it once. While breathing unfiltered car exhaust (on a recumbent trike particularly) is certainly unpleasant, not being able to breathe at all proved far worse. EFR Ile de France |

The Value of Face Masks While Biking in an Urban Environment

The best $20 I ever spent in keeping warm - also works rather well on a motor bicycle, skiing or kayaking - anything outdoor and cold. Many examples around - try googling polar buff for one commercial example. Best, Andrew |
