First ride with new shoe / pedal system
Do they make recessed road shoes, or do those by definition have to be
mountain shoes? I am *tempted* to try pedals that use shoes that are comfortable to walk around (perhaps even to walk at the office at work?). I have recently converted from a racing type into a touring type; me and my wife often take our tandem to art shows etc. Walking in look-style cleats is cubmersome (and it also ruins the cleats). The downside is that I would have to switch pedals on 3 different bikes. |

I'm not exactly sure, but I know that they make mountain shoes that look and feel very much like road shoes, but with a recessed cleat. I don't know your price range, but here's a high-end example I found real quick: http://tinyurl.com/2lkf9v I am *tempted* to try pedals that use shoes that are comfortable to walk around (perhaps even to walk at the office at work?). My cheap Shimano shoes work great. Obviously, I wouldn't spend all day in them...but I can go 5 or 6 hours riding/walking around campus and the city before I really start to notice them. The downside is that I would have to switch pedals on 3 different bikes. Yeah, but as mentioned before, you can get some deals on Egg Beaters. Might be worth a shot. |
