I don't mind helping people out when they're in a real jam,

/Nobody/ but me touches my chain tool. The pins in those
things are too easily bent by the ham-fisted.

I wonder about liability. I don't mean on the road but in the shops. I imagine
the LBS guys could answer this. They may have rules: no tools loaned. I have
been trying to find a LBS that actually offers the Park courses. Anyway I asked
one why they don't have seminars, you know like maybe have someone from UBI,
Barnet, or Sheldon Brown do a road show. I would pay to attend anyone of these.
Anyway they say it would never happen as the liability would be too high.

A few years ago I was doing a long 80 miler beach ride and broke a
rear spoke. Finding a close Supergo in Fountain Valley California I
brought my wheel in for a new spoke. They repaired it for Free! I
will always shop there. They are the best!

Oh! another SAR Trail fan! If you see a hefty doing about 20 mph on a black or
a blue GT Aggresor mtb, that's me. Say hi.

BTW, in barbes & noble they have nice comfy couches to sit and read anything
on their shelves and you can even get coffee!

Yep, I think some from the dot com crash live there by the looks of things.
Many students do their paper research there. More up to date archives than the
college library.g

Yep. Santa Ana River trail is nice ride. I am the old fat guy on a
Hot pink Diamond back Road bike doing... 15mph.

I'll keep an eye out for you. BTW, in case you don't already know, if you get
bored with the flats there are fairly steep hills just south of the Riverside
FWY. Meats going east from Santiago Canyon Rd, Knowl Ranch road east, and
Cannon Drive. Some parts of Cannon have separate bike lanes away from car
traffic. All steep grades for at least a mile to the top. I can't do them
myself. Sigh. I even dream of doing Fargo hill in Pasadena Someday. That'l
never happen.

yah, well, here's my Supergo story. i went there (Mountain View CA) 3 days
ago and asked what kind of cyclocross bikes they had. "Um, could you tell
me what a cyclocross bike is?" the guy asked. i said "No, but thanks" and
started to leave. he stopped me, saying "I'm new here and I don't what that
bike is." "so find someone who does" i retorted nastily (yeah, i know i was
being obnoxious, but come on, this is a bike shop!).

he went to ask someone, then wandered around looking at bikes, then grabbed
me and said "Sure we have them, i just didn't know you meant a hybrid bike"
as he pointed to some fat-tire flat-bar sort-of mountain bikes. i just
left.

so that's why i'm not bothering with Supergo any time soon. just wanted to
share.
