I see a guy in his late 70s at coffee in the mornings (only other guy in the place with a tie most days) who says he enjoys his work and that he'd be lost without it. Nothing gives a person a better feeling of fulfillment and self-worth than cleaning Wal-Mart restrooms and re-stocking shelves part time! FWIW, one friend of mine did retire, then decide that she'd like to return to the workplace. And she says she knows it sounds weird, but she always had an interest in marketing. So she took a job that had her traveling to different retail stores, promoting her company's products. She said Wal-Mart employees were the most miserable of all. -- - Frank Krygowski |
