Default Rear Suspension

I have a GF Joshua X0. (1998) The rear suspension is very bouncy
(RockShox Deluxe). I want to get a new rear shock. Can I get
recommendations and sources for replacements? I seem to be unable to
find reviews on rear shox. I find lots of reviews for front sus
forks. Also, I would like lock out control - or is that necessary on
new rear shox? Thanks in advance for info.
