Frame Paint Repair Around Brake Ferrule Lugs
I've got a 2000 Bianchi aluminum frame which had some bubbling
paint/corrosion in and around the brake ferrule lugs (on top tube). I've sanded the paint and corrosion off the lugs. Now, I'm wondering what to do next. Should I take to a bike repair shop and have it touch-up painted or is it possible to do a decent job with some touchup paint and maybe a spray gun. I have an air compressor and am fairly mechanically inclined. I've heard aluminum is not particularly fond of paint, is there a primer I need to use or can I just scuff up surface with medium sandpaper? |
