Shame.

Maybe the Tories will come up with some knee-jerk potential legislation

He probably had a car following him to take the bags of shopping home
anyway!

He says "I chained the bike through the wheel then put it around one of
those bollard things". Would that be one of those bollard things you
can just lift the lock over? You have to worry for the future of the
nation.

Yes - it does sound rather like it wasn't really locked to anything in
any useful sense.

Mind you - I do that occasionally for a few minutes when I can't find a
handy thing to secure it to. Although he did say he was in Tesco for 5
mins to get some salad stuff - it's pretty much impossible to be in and
out of a big supermarket in 5 mins IME.

Who said it was a big supermarket. Tesco also do small shops - the
Tesco Express are your typical corner shop size. The Metros are very
small supermarkets. I would think that both would be easy to get in
and out in five minutes or so.
