Will you still be riding when you're......
This thread is primarily geared to riders 20 years old and under, and for those who have already achieved a fairly high level of riding. This can include MUni, Trials, Street and/or flat. *Question:* Do you think you will still be riding at your current level, below or above, into your 30's, 40's, 50's or beyond? Do you think you might simply "burn yourself out" after a certain amount of years doing extreme riding? And at what about what age do you think you might start "slowing down", and your skills, stamina and drive either start diminishing, or you might make the decision to take things a bit more easy. Ok Let's hear from you! -- MuniAddict 'Terry's \\\"MUni Minute\\\" ' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RglYUOOBap4&fmt=22)'in HD' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RglYUOOBap4&fmt=22) ::'-Speedpass- in HD' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xW7dM-v3dOs&fmt=22) 'UniGeezer.com ' (http://unigeezer.com) :: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MuniAddict's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/12920 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/75424 Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.usenet.com |

I'll never quit. I'm not sure how long I'll last doing Flat and Street(probably until I'm like 20-25), but I'll be doing muni as long as I can. -- EliB -Eli Brill **TEAM INSANITY FLATLAND** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ EliB's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/17639 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/75424 Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.usenet.com |

I wouldn't consider my riding to be at a high level but I believe I will still be doing distance rides and MUni for many years to come. I might slow down physically a bit but I think that technique gained with experience will more than make up for it. -- saskatchewanian ------------------------------------------------------------------------ saskatchewanian's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/14180 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/75424 Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.usenet.com |

I don't really know. I kinda agree with Eric though. But I'm probably going to quit riding, or at least doing extreme stuff, after I get married and start teaching and doing more shows and everything. So it dosn't really matter to me. I wonder if any 20 year olds have any clue what it's like to be 40. Its great to see riders in their 40s and 50s tearing it up like some of the hardcore dudes we get to see at CMW and Moab. I'm very hopeful that my body is in the right shape, and my life is in the right order to continue such activity, but if life has taught me anything, it's that I'll never know what's going to happen tomorrow. -- maestro8 Those are my principles. As for me, I'm going to ride until I can't any more. I think the "bug" (the fun) is from trying stuff that seems impossible and then getting it. If I get to a point where I don't get that reward any more, cause I can't make any more progress, then I'd probably lose the bug. So far there doesn't appear to be any end in sight. Every new trick or skill takes me a while, but I eventually get it. -- tmoyer ')--360unispin08--O' (http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=HPwf_TA17xo) ')--75cmHighJump*' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZywfKhbBFkY) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ tmoyer's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/16057 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/75424 Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.usenet.com |

I know I'll keep at this awhile! I could ride my mountain bike today. OMG, it was like being 8 again. I love it! But I kinda wanted to bounce up and down on it. I guess what I'm saying is I know the uni will be 10 times more fun. If all I could do was bounce on it, that would be pretty cool still. I just dont want to ever grow up in this sense. -- cbs ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cbs's Profile: http://www.unicyclist.com/profile/18611 View this thread: http://www.unicyclist.com/thread/75424 Posted Via Usenet.com Premium Usenet Newsgroup Services ---------------------------------------------------------- http://www.usenet.com |
